The major attraction here is the Guggenheim museum. This is one of three Guggenheim museums.The locations are New York, Venice and Bilbao. Some exhibits are permanent and others rotate among the museums.
The building itself is a work of art. Even if one is not interested in modern art, the building, designed by Frank Gehry, would be a good reason to visit Bilbao! We thought the building was an engineering and construction marvel.
On our last day, we took their funicular, which was put in service in 1915, to an area high above the city. This proved to be a relaxing way to end our Basque journey and see the entire city.
