Pamplona, the famous running of the bulls event location, was our next home for two nights. A local guide explained about the running event. We learned that it is different from the news coverage we see. It is still dangerous but not nearly to the extent it appears on the television news.
We were able to visit a private home that has a bullfight museum. The deceased husband of the widow who owns the house was a bullfight fan and created the collection, including a bull ring model that he built.
We had a fun dinner at a private dining club. These “clubs” are traditionally men only, including all of the kitchen duties. Women could only be there in the company of a man. The meal was great!
Those who wished could walk a short (5.3 mile) part of the Camino trail. Some avoided the initial section because of the very rocky terrain and quite steep elevation drop. Later the last two segments were moderatly flat and easy walking.
