There are many schools and orphanages that Grand Circle Foundation contributes to and their tours visit these. We made a brief visit to an elementary school in Luxor. The students were typical school children; loved to have their picture taken, ask your name, slap you a “high five”, etc.

We ended the Egypt part of our trip with visits in the Luxor area to the west bank Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens and a rural village breakfast visit. The Valleys have been the burial sites for Egyptian Kings and Queens since about 2200 BCE. There are 63 tombs excavated in the Valley of The Kings and about 75 in the Valley of The Queens. Photos are not permitted inside the tombs so the two here are from commercially purchased prints. From here we flew back to Cairo then on to Amman,  Jordan.
