The Iveragh peninsula is where the famous Ring of Kerry and city of Killarney are located. This also means this is a prime destination for the tour bus crowd! Thanks to the advice in Rick Steves guidebook, we drove most ot the Ring of Kerry and were able to avoid almost all of the tour buses that can make the narrow roads difficult for other drivers.
The 25,000 acre Killarney National Park includes the interesting sites Muckross House, Torc Waterfall and Muckross Abbey.
At the tip of the peninsula is the very scenic Skellig Ring. This part is also more pleasant because the road is too narrow for tour buses!
