We stopped near Catania at a farm for our lunch which was delightful and lengthy. Our next stop was Siracusa. The old part is on the island of Ortigia where we stayed. The main attraction here is the Archeological Park of Neapolis (new city). New city in this case is 3rd century BC! The Greek theater here is one of the largest in the world, measuring 455 feet across and able to seat up to 15,000 spectators. The theater is hewn out of the rock! It was here that Barb and I had one of our more delightful dinners, along with some new found friends from our tour. Our hotel here was also unique in that it had been a former mansion.
