Our tour end point was Lake Bled in Slovenia after a few hours touring Ljubljana, Slovenia. We had been in Ljubljana on the Adriatic tour but it was nice to be back. This city is an easy place to walk and just take in the scenery!
Before arriving at our destination hotel in Bled we hiked the picturesque Vintgar Gorge. This was a pleasant hike through a narrow gorge with constantly changing scenery. The sunlight late in the afternoon and the narrow canyon walls made the views particularly dramatic.
The last full day of our tour was on Lake Bled. We crossed the lake on the oar powered Pletna boats to the island to visit the Church of the Assumption. This church is a favorite site for weddings and tradition is that the groom carry his bride up the 99 step to the church! For the rest of the day we did the 3.5 mile walk around the lake and hiked up to the Bled Castle at the top of the hill.
