This page is a collection of miscellaneous photos of general interest. We were impressed with our ship! Our spacious cabin had a large TV. With on board satellite connections we frequently had regular TV channels. One channel always had the day’s schedule, cycled between English and German, the ships position on a map and the ship’s speed, heading and average water depth for the past few hours. When there were lectures, they were always on another channel for anyone who preferred not to attend in person.
The main elevator area was open with a 17.5 meter tall by 6.5 meter wide Ultra HD LED screen with constantly changing scenery photos.
When entering the dining room, after checking in, the staff person would remind everyone to wash their hands. Interestingly, we never observed anyone not doing it! That was consistent with the masks required policy when in any public area unless eating or drinking.
The lecture area was a high tech dream with multiple screens all synced, including to the lecturer’s laser pointers.
The ship had an underwater drone that was used by the expedition staff for some of their research. In one lecture we got to see some of the photos taken with it.
At the captain’s welcome, all of the staff introduced themselves. We were impressed at the number of different countries represented by the staff.
