Our next days found us navigating the narrow passages into William Henry Bay, visiting the city of Haines and into Tracy Arm.

Haines was home to the former Ft. Seward military base. It currently has an active art community as well as business center.

A disappointment was that we had to cut short our excursion into Tracy Arm because Harbor Seals were giving birth to their pups. Hurtigruten as a policy will not disturb wildlife and there was a danger some of the mothers would abandon their pups on the ice flows. We changed our itinerary to go up nearby Endicott Arm instead. We soon had to cut that journey short because of fog. Nature rules!

We saw the first cruise boat since leaving Seward, a National Geographic ship, which has quite small tours.
