We again crossed the Nile to visit St. Simeon Monastery which was built in the sixth century. It is a fortress like structure surrounded by desert and is a well preserved early Christian site. We rode the local transport, a camel, for about ten minutes to get to the site. We later had tea in a home in a Nubian village on the west bank of the Nile.
