We spent four nights aboard the MS Royal Orchid on the Nile traveling from Aswan to Luxor. The Nile is the longest river in the world at 4,132 miles in length. The Nile and its tributaries flow through nine countries with an average discharge of about 300 million cubic meters per day. It is also different from what we are used to in that it flows from south to north.
