Cascate delle Marmore is the highest set of waterfalls in Europe. They were created by the Romans in 290 BC by diverting the Velino river. Today the water is diverted for hydroelectric use except at designated times for the tourist trade. When the flow is turned on it is impressive to watch it build!

Carsulae was a 3rd century BC Roman town on the Via Flaminia. We had some trouble finding it. It was very untouristy!
