Our journey began in Rome with a taxi ride from the airport with an entertaining driver doubling as a tour guide. Our apartment was in the Trastevere area which we had picked based on our previous visits as a bit less hectic than some areas. That proved to be correct except the night life was quite lively. With very tired feet and tight apartment windows, that was not an issue.
The girls soon were quite comfortable here and found that they loved the street wandering, restaurants and very friendly natives.
