Cape Horn is the southernmost headland of the Tierra del Fuego archipelago of southern Chile, and is located on the small Hornos Island. It marks the northern boundary of the Drake Passage where the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans meet. The waters around Cape Horn are noted for being hazardous, owing to strong winds, large waves, strong currents and icebergs. The winds were very strong when we were there! Our ship captain told us that of his five trips through here this was the first time that hey had been able to allow passengers to go ashore.
