Russ & Barb’s Travels

Lisbon

Lisbon was the final destination for the tour. We had been in Lisbon several days on our previous trip to Portugal so opted to only stay the balance of our docking day then fly home. We found the city to be very overrun with tourists in comparison to our prior visit. Tourism has discovered Portugal! We were told that Lisbon has become a significant starting and ending city for cruise ships. When a few thousand extra people are suddenly on the streets, it makes a lot of difference!

A dubious addition that we did not recall from before was the large number of tuk-tuks with drivers hawking their local tours. There were streets with dozens of these tiny motorized vehicles waiting for customers. With the steep streets and many tourists, they apparently have plenty of business.
