Puerto Eden
Puerto Eden is a Chilean hamlet on Wellingtn Island. It is considered one of Chile’s most isolated inhabited places and is only accessible by sea. The village is known for being the home of the last Kaweshkar people. The population was 176 in a 2002 census.There ae no roads, only pedestrian walkways connecting the houses and shops. A weekly transport boat takes local fish and shellfish products, mainly mussels, to markets. The weekly boat also transports refuse from the village.
