This hike was through a pastoral setting from Schwarzwaldalp to Rosenlai. The trip begins with a bus from Meiringen winding its way up about 2500 feet in altitude to Schwarzwaldalp. From there the trail goes through some woods and pastures along a stream to Rosenlaui. From Rosenlaui we got the bus back to Meiringen.

The other photos are an excursion we made to Alpen Tower at Planplatten. This trip did not involve any hiking, only a connecting series of three cable car runs. Planplatten is at 7350 feet ASL. We had rain the night before in Meiringen which we learned was snow at Planplatten. The mountain peaks and a moderate wind created an ideal situation for paragliders there. On our way back down we enjoyed lunch in Reuti at a restaurant we had visited on a previous trip.
