Our Trips (2023 - on)

This is a small collection of photos that don’t particularly fit on one of the other pages. The parks, and pleasant weather, made picnicking for lunch easy. Also,most of the time there are no restaurants nearby when you are moving around the parks.

Two photos bear commenting. The “service” dog was the most glaring, of a number of cases, of apparent snub of the park rules by owners simply putting a neckerchief on their dog with the “Service” word on it. A park ranger even stopped her and questioned her but let her proceed. During our walk the two women took turns pushing the stroller with the dog in it. On another occasion we were walking to dinner when we met a man briskly walking a large dog with a “service” neckerchief on. I commented to him as we met on the path “I see your dog is taking you for a walk”. I only got a glare back! We later saw him in the restaurant where he fed the dog that was lying under the table half of the steak from his own dinner!

The other experience was with the crow who tried to join us for lunch. It landed, sat a minute then “called” a mate that quickly came. They both tried approaching us but we shooed them away. They “talked” to each other and flew away rather than stay hoping for a handout like most birds. Having read how intelligent crows are, we were impressed.
