Our adventure began from the pleasant Amtrak Lounge in Union Station. We have departed from Union Station many times but our usual regular fare tickets did not allow use of the lounge. Sleeper car ticket holders have accesss. Enroute a perk of having the sleeper compartment was that we did not have to wear our masks inside our closed compartment. Our large window afforded great views as we traveled!
We were pleasantly surprised at the food service. We had expected microwaved, quick meals. As you can see from the photos, our expectations were completely incorrect! The dining car was available to sleeper compartment passengers only.
