This page contains a mixed collection of photos we thought interestig to show but didn’t fit neatly elsewhere.
Our route of return to Grand Junction was a scenic one through western Colorado. One of those “finds” along that route was a roadside attraction at the Dolores River Canyon flume. This was a failed project in the late 1800’s where a mining company built a flume to carry water for gold mining. The engineering attraction was that five miles of the flume were attached to the walls of the canyon! For those interested, we have included a photo of the explanation about this project.
