After our two weeks in Switzerland we traveled via train to Salzburg, Austria for an overnight stop, then to Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic via shuettle van. The annual St. Wenceslas festival was occurring while we were there. Cesky Krumlov, a Unesco World Heritage site, is a unique place to visit and having the festival really made it enjoyable albeit with a lot of extra visitors.
The castle is expansive and a steep climb through its various courtyards to the gardens. Climbing to the top of the castle tower, as Russ did, affords views of the entire city.
The festival had dance groups from all over the world performing throughout the day and evening. There were also many other festival attractions, including a wine tasting in the cellar caves under the castle!
