Our introduction to Hungary was in the city of Eger. The two things we had time to do here were the Astronomical Tower’s Camera Obscura, one of two surviving in Europe, and a Marzipan museum. The Marzipan museum was most interesting in that everything in it was made of Marzipan!
Enroute to Budapest we stopped at the Kohary family owned winery near Egerszalok. Here we tasted, danced, visited the cellars and had a good time!
The next two days were spent exploring the cities of Buda and Pest. We decided this was a totally insufficient amount ot time, but a tour has to move along. We were able to get tickets to a concert one night. On our walk back to out hotel the moon and clouds posed for a great photo of St. Istvan Basilica.
