Barb, on the recommendation of our waitress, ordered a particular Belgian beer. Imagine her shock when it came and the glass was marked Austin Texas! We checked out the brewery and Texans should be able to get that beer (again) sometime in 2017.
The bicycle culture in Leiden is ubiquitous. It dominates the streets in the center of the city. As you can see from the modern parking “garage” at the Haarlem train station, bicycles and trains are the primary modes of transportation.
The area between Leiden and Haarlem is a primary bulb producing area. Our train rides frequently traversed this area so we took a short video of some of the fields. Even at 70 miles per hour one can clearly see these fields.
We had sandwichs at lunch many days. Most came attractively presented but you can see one where they really went overboard!
