Leixoes-Porto

Leixoes Portugal is the port for access to the nearby city of Porto. Porto is known as a warehouse city for the port wine industry. The location on the Douro river made it a convenient location for these warehouses. The city also is known for the tiles that clad many buildings. As is common for cities built on rivers, the streets go up steeply from the waterfront area.

We were excited when our walking tour passed the hotel where we had stayed on a previous trip. The waterfront is a popular place with many restaurants and vendors.
