Southern Africa - 2016

trip map from OAT

In July 2016, our adventure was to Southern Africa. We were joined on this trip by our friends Roger and Phyllis. Roger and Russ’s friendship dates back to elementary school years. This trip had been discussed over a year previously when the four of us decided to sign up.

Our trip began with a flight to Atlanta, GA. then a fifteen hour flight from Atlanta to Johannesburg, South Africa. The initial two weeks was with Overseas Adventure Travel (OAT) on their “Ultimate Africa: Botswana, Zambia & Zimbabwe Safari”. This part took us to four bush camps for three nights each and culminating in Victoria Falls for the final two nights.

Following the safari, the four of us flew to Cape Town, South Africa were we toured for four days. We then flew back to Johannesburg to explore an additional three days. Then the long flight back to the US. The entire trip exceeded our expectations. The map, courtesy of OAT, depicts our journey.
